The United Kingdom is ready to advance with employing the full worth of seized Russian assets to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany asserted that this unified step would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They clarified that the decision would be carried out in close cooperation with the US.

UK penalties have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow initiated its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, funds provided to Ukraine using Russian holdings had solely been sourced from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and Germany were united in their goal to advance efforts toward employing the full value of the frozen Moscow's national funds to end the war.

He added that additional measures soon would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This declaration comes after EU officials gathered in Copenhagen previously to consider employing seized Russia's holdings for a €140 billion loan to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to seize or employ seized Russia's funds, as reported by reports.

The total of frozen Russian holdings in the Europe is calculated to be almost €211bn.

Russia carried out large-scale aerial attacks all over the Ukrainian territory on recently, causing blackouts in significant regions of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.

Several persons were killed and at least 20 people were injured in the attack, authorities in Ukraine said.

In a message on social media subsequent to the incident, Zelensky wrote that the cynical and calculated attack targeted non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not just talk but decisive action - from the America, Europe, and the seven nations - in supplying defense mechanisms and enforcing sanctions," he wrote.

"Each restrictive measure weakens the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to the press he would press Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement programme, under which Nato countries acquire military equipment from the America to donate to Ukraine.

While praising the United Kingdom's firm backing for Kyiv, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the initiative, as well as enforce further restrictions on the Russian Federation.
