Dallas Cowboys Player Marshawn Kneeland Dies at 24 Years Old
He was the 56th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland has passed away at the age of 24.
Kneeland was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round of the draft in the 2024 NFL Draft and appeared in 18 games for the team, including four starts.
He scored his first touchdown in Tuesday's defeat to the Arizona Cardinals when he retrieved a blocked punt.
"Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organisation," the Dallas Cowboys stated.
"We send our condolences regarding Marshawn are with his partner Catalina and his loved ones."
Kneeland was selected by Dallas with the 56th selection of the 2024 draft after playing college football for Western Michigan University.
His agent, Jonathan Perzley, said his "heart aches" for the passing of a player who "gave his all" into each opportunity.
"I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan with a dream to being a esteemed pro for the Dallas Cowboys," Perzley said.
The NFL said it is "deeply saddened" by the tragic event.
